Working with clay!
Have been cleaning and sorting my craft room all day and now have my paints, brushes, oils, pastels and best of all clay back out again, plus a few other bits and bobs. Ive missed my clay days and so tonight will be mixing and preparing ready to make a few pumpkins and some of my old favourites. I might be a while making them but will pop back with little updates now and again.
I'm still going to be felting and doing my spinning as show on my other blog: http://thehappyfelter.blogspot.com/ But i decided i missed making minis and will now do a mix of the three together. I'll pop some in my etsy shop when i have them ready but will let you all know in advance before i do.
I know i must sound mad after saying id given them up but the last two weeks I've been itching to resort my craft room and sit and sculpt again. I wont be taking commissions and will just be working at my own pace.

ReplyDeleteMaybe the calm of spinning will provide you with the time you need for inspiration.
Enjoy and have fun with your clay.

Hey that's cool. Just make what you like when you like. Do some felting, some modelling, and maybe something new. I think it's nice to alter what you do it keeps you interest, focus and inspired to create new items. Remember do what you want to do. Also if you have weeks were you don't create that's fine too. I don't make hats every week and I enjoy them more because I don't.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you're back to making minis. I knew you couldn't stay away for long, even though your new work is awesome. Sometimes I think we have to get away from something we've done for so long to see it in a new way. That's what has happened with my doll making. Have a great April!
ReplyDeleteI don't know how I missed this post! It's like what Velvet Brown said, in National Velvet, "The only way to come back, is to go". :-) I think you're wise not to do commissions. I was in a similar position years ago, and it can create undo stress and mental pressure, as well as take the fun out of the creative process. Making and selling on your terms is the ONLY way to go! :-) Glad to see you back!
